The Kyiv city police department denies that law enforcement officers used firearms during the protests on Hrushevskoho Street in the center of Kyiv.

“The police didn’t use firearms,” the department told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed earlier on
Wednesday that at least two people died from gunshot wounds during the
protests. The circumstances of these deaths have yet to be determined.

Earlier reports from Kyiv indicated that the law enforcement used
tear gas, flash bang grenades, and rubber bullets against the protesters
on Hrushevskoho Street.
