You're reading: Kyiv police not taking active steps yet

At the moment law enforcement is not taking any active steps with respect to the protestors, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said.

“So far the police are dismantling barricades in European Square
without resorting to active measures,” the ministry spokesperson Serhiy
Burlakov said on Tuesday evening.

“The protests are getting quieter” but it is hard to predict what will happen next, he said.

Police will act depending on how the situation unfolds, in accordance with the effective legislation, Burlakov added.

Law enforcement seized weapons abandoned by the protestors who were fleeing from police, he also said.

“It (weapons) will be investigated,” he added.
