MINSK - Ukraine presented a draft document regulating the application of Ukrainian law to local elections in certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk on Oct. 27, OSCE envoy Martin Sajdik told journalists on Oct. 27.

The Contact Group members completed the first round of work on the documents regulating some elements of local elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, he said.

Sajdik said in reply to a question from Interfax that he considered it premature to talk about disagreements between the parties concerning the organization of local elections in Donbas. The parties discussed the matter and listened to experts from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), and therefore it is too early to say that they failed to reach an agreement, he said.
