The self-proclaimed republics' militants keep shelling Ukrainian army positions in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The ceasefire was breached 30 times over the past 24 hours, the army operation press center said on March 17.

“Avdiyivka was attacked by 122-mm artillery guns of the illegal armed units at 7:50 a.m., 12:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The same town was thrice attacked by tanks and twice by mortars of the militants,” the press service wrote on Facebook on March 17 morning.

Small arms and automatic grenade launchers were used against Pisky and Opytne. The village of Shyrokyne in the Mariupol district was attacked by small arms and mortars four times, the press center said.

“On the whole, the enemy used mortars and grenade launchers 19 times, artillery three times, tanks four times, and small arms seven times in the past 24 hours,” Kyiv said.
