You're reading: Kyiv selects medical establishments to render first aid to fans during Euro 2012

If required Kyiv Oleksandrivska clinical hospital and Kyiv city clinical hospitals No. 2 and No. 17 will render first aid to fans of Euro 2012, the deputy head of the main healthcare department at Kyiv City State Administration, Alla Areshkovych, said at a press conference on Friday, May 11.

She said that Oleksandrivska clinical hospital would serve the fan zone on Khreschatyk, clinical hospital No. 2 will provide a necessary medical aid to local fans from the stadium and clinical hospital No. 17 will serve patients with sports injuries.

All three hospitals are subordinated to Kyiv City State Administration.

Moreover, three more medical facilities will render medical aid. Feofania clinical hospital will treat VIPs from UEFA, the authorities, football teams and referees.

The main military hospital of the Defense Ministry will serve foreign fans injured at stadiums, if necessary.

The Borys commercial clinic will also provide first aid.

On the days of the championship, about 30% of the city’s ambulances will be available render emergency medical aid.

The hospitals are also to allocate extra beds during the championship.

"At the same time Kyiv citizens won’t be restricted in medical provisions," Areshkovych said.

According to her, the provision of medical aid to foreigners will be carried out in accordance with their insurance policies.
