Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) is planning to raise the penalties for the violations of the rules of urban development, primarily for the unauthorized installation of small architectural forms, namely kiosks and booths, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.

"I’m sure that without taking tough measures we won’t be able to put things in order," he said on Friday at a meeting of Kyiv City Administration.

According to him, the KSCA intends to draw up amendments to the Administrative Code suggesting an increase of penalties for violating the rules of urban landscaping.

These amendments will be submitted to parliament to be passed as a law, Popov said.

The head of Kyiv administration’s main department for control over city development, Serhiy Sadovy, recalled that the current penalty for violation of the rules of urban landscaping is UAH 360 for individuals, and from UAH 1,300 to UAH 1,700 legal entities.

He suggested the penalty for legal entities should be increased tenfold.
