MOSCOW - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Dutch Foreign Minister Albert Koenders discussed a number of international problems, including the Ukraine crisis, at a meeting in Moscow on June 5.

“Sergei Lavrov stressed that Russia consistently favors a comprehensive, thorough, and independent investigation into the Malaysia Airlines plane crash in the sky over Ukraine on July 17, 2014 in strict accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2166 and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) rules,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The two foreign policy chiefs discussed the condition and prospects of the development of Russian-Dutch relations and touched upon a number of relevant issues on the international agenda, including the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, including in the context of efforts against international terrorism, the Foreign Ministry said.

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was downed in the Donetsk region on July 17, 2014, killing all the 298 people on board.
