You're reading: Lavrov, Kerry resume Ukraine talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry discussed "the situation in Ukraine" at a bilateral meeting in Rome on Thursday, a source in Lavrov's delegation told reporters.

Lavrov and Kerry had also held talks on the Ukraine issue in Paris on
Wednesday. “We agreed that all Ukrainians should be helped to implement
the agreement that was reached on February 21,” the Russian minister
said after them.

He said Kerry concurred that “in an environment of threats and
ultimatums it is very difficult to seek an honest agreement that would
then help the Ukrainian people stabilize the situation.”
