Russia has no wish to bring troops to Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. "We have no wish to bring our troops to Ukraine, to the territory of the country that is friendly to us. This contradicts fundamental interests of Russia," Lavrov said following the four-party talks in Geneva between Russia, the United States, European Union and Ukraine.

The new Kyiv authorities should show initiative, hear concerns of all
the Ukrainian regions and start negotiating with them, Russian Foreign
Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

“It is necessary, and we have emphasized this especially, that first
of all, those who took power in Kyiv following the revolt – if they
think they represent interests of all Ukrainians – they should show
initiative, they should give a hand to the regions, hear their concerns,
sit with them and start negotiating with them on resolving certain
security issues in this or that city or village and on true
constitutional reform,” Lavrov said at a news conference in Geneva.

“The taken buildings should be returned to their owners and occupied
streets, squares and other public places in all Ukrainian cities should
be cleared. All protestors, except for those who committed serious
crimes, should be amnestied,” Lavrov said on Thursday following a
four-party meeting in the situation in Ukraine.
