You're reading: Lavrov says Kyiv in gross violation of Geneva accord

The current authorities in Kyiv are grossly violating the Geneva agreements reached last week at the Russia-U.S.-EU-Ukraine meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

“Not only is the Geneva agreement not being complied with, but steps are being made, primarily by those who seized power in Kyiv, to grossly violate the agreements reached in Geneva,” he told a press conference responding to a question posed by Interfax.

The Geneva agreement was signed on April 17 by Ukraine, Russia, USA and the European Union. All sides committed to work to de-escalate tensions in eastern Ukraine.
