You're reading: Leaders of Russia, Ukraine and EU attending breakfast meeting at Milan Prefecture

Milan - The Russian and Ukrainian presidents, Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko, are attending a breakfast meeting at the Milan Prefecture on Oct. 17 morning.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and Council of Europe President Herman Van Rompuy are also present. The meeting was organized by Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on the sidelines of the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit.

Among other topics, the leaders are expected to discuss possible peaceful solutions to the Ukraine crisis.

Upon arrival in Milan late on Oct. 16, Putin attended the dinner given by Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and then held a bilateral meeting.

Poroshenko, for his part, held meetings with Merkel, Napolitano and Renzi on Oct. 16.
