Lithuania very soon will send humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius has said.

Very soon Lithuania will send an aircraft with a humanitarian shipment to Ukraine, the minister said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on the results of his visit on Friday.

Linkevicius said that he had discussed a number of issues, concerning humanitarian aid as well, during the meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

Besides, I decided with the president in the next few months to send an experienced specialist on economic and European integration, as well as on the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU, Linkevicius said, adding that Lithuania is ready to help Ukraine in this direction.

Moreover, the parties discussed security issues and the effective use by Ukraine of international financial aid.
