Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius have congratulated Ukrainians with the anniversary of the revolutionary events occurred on Maidan in Kyiv.

“One year ago people of Ukraine made a democratic choice that cannot be changed by force & lies,” Grybauskaite wrote on its Twitter page on Friday morning, Nov. 21.

Linkevicius also shared his country president’s congratulations.

“Maidan made us all Ukrainians. And better Europeans too. Слава Україні! Героям слава! United for Ukraine,” the minister twitted on his page..

The Association Agreement between Ukraine and EU was to have been signed at a summit meeting of Eastern Partnership in Vilnius held trough Nov. 28-29, 2013. However, on Nov. 21, Ukrainian government decided to stop the preparation for signing the Association Agreement. On the same day, late at night, people started gathering at Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv to protest against this government’s decision.
