Lithuania will share its experience in diversifying energy resources with Ukraine, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has said.

“Lithuania has become fully independent, in particular, from Gazprom, and today the country can provide itself both with gas and power from other sources. We want to share our experience with you,” she said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Monday, Nov. 24 in Kyiv.

She said that it is no coincidence that the energy minister of Lithuania is a member of her delegation. His goal is to provide aid to Ukraine in strengthening positions in European institutions and achieving energy independence.

Grybauskaite said that the foreign minister is also a member of the delegation. He will help Ukraine in further negotiations with the European Union, while the defense minister will discuss defense cooperation.
