Provocations during Victory Day celebrations in Lviv on May 9 and similar cases are to be the subject of attention from UEFA in connection with the holding of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine, Euro 2012 Tournament Director for Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky has said.

"The current escalation of the situation is the subject of attention from UEFA. Such confrontations are unacceptable. I don’t want to talk about possible consequences, but I can assure you that such issues will be the subject of discussion by UEFA," he said at a press conference at the Interfax Ukraine news agency in Kyiv on Tuesday.

He said that the main task of the tournament’s organizers was to ensure that "the safest possible conditions are created for people during their stay in Ukraine and Poland."

Lviv is one of the four Ukrainian cities that are to host the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.
