The head coach of FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Mircea Lucescu, is successfully recovering after surgery.

"Lucescu is already breathing and eating on his own. He’s even talking a little. According to Shakhtar’s doctor, Artur Hluschenko, who is now in hospital near [Lucescu], post-surgery processes are going as usual. In order to avoid congestion in the lungs, he is being given medical massages. In general, Shakhtar’s head coach is already beginning to be active," the club’s press service reported.

Despite his good recovery, Romanian doctors continue to closely monitor Lucescu.

On Jan. 6, Lucescu had a car accident in Bucharest, in which he injured his chest and broke several ribs.
