You're reading: Luhansk governor reports attacks on two villages, wounding of Ukrainian serviceman last night

The situation in the most populated areas on the territory of Luhansk region controlled by Ukraine was calm in the past 24 hours, but fire was opened on the villages of Krymske and Troitske last night and one serviceman was wounded.

“Militants opened mortar fire on the outskirts of the village of Troitske, Popasna district, around 1:00 a.m. one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded,” a report posted on the official Facebook account of the Luhansk region’s military-civilian administration on Aug. 5 says.

Seven cows were hurt by an attack in the village of Krymske, Novoaidar district. The animals sustained fragmentation wounds and the explosions caused a fire, which lasted until late that night.

No attacks took place in Stanytsia Luhanska last night. “The non-shooting situation is being used to rebuild the infrastructure and service lines of the populated area,” Heorhiy Tuka, head of Luhansk region’s military-civilian administration, said.
