Former Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko interrupted Public Prosecutor Mykola Kurapov while the latter was speaking at the Higher Specialized Court on Lutsenko's appeals against his conviction, a correspondent of Interfax-Ukraine has reported.

Kurapov drew attention to the fact that the testimonies mentioned in the cassation petitions are not subject to reconsideration at the court of appeals.

During a speech by the prosecutor on the matter of Lutsenko’s giving a job to Leonid Prestupliuk, Lutsenko several times interrupted him, and was reprimanded by Judge Serhiy Slynko.

The ex-minister in turn told the judge: “I think my duty is to stop lies. This is my civil duty: to tell the liar that he is a liar.”

In particular, in his explanation, the public prosecutor said that courts of the first and appeal instances reasonably made the conclusion that the minister personally bears responsibility for his signed orders, incentives and other documents.
