Lviv – Lviv City Council has approved the resolution on tax on property other than land plot at a session of the city council on Jan. 29.

A total of 59 lawmakers supported the decision.

According to the document, Lviv residents who have apartments more than 80 square meters or owners of houses with a gross area of over 160 square meters will pay the tax. If a resident has an apartment and a house, the tax will be paid for the area of over 200 square meters.

According to the decision, the tax rate for residential property belonged to individuals is set at 0.5 percent of the minimum wage and 2 percent for companies.

The tax for nonresidential property depends on zoning. In the first zone – the historic center of the city – the tax rate is 1 percent of the minimum wage, in the second zone – buildings of late 19th and early 20th centuries – 0.75 percent and the third zone – modern districts – 0.5 percent.
