A vehicle, in which Lviv regional police commander Dmytro Zaharia was traveling, has hit a roadside bomb near Debaltseve, Donetsk Oblast, MP Andriy Antonyschak (Petro Poroshenko Bloc) told Interfax-Ukraine.

“They were traveling in both vehicles from Stanytsia Luhanska to Debaltseve where the Lviv special-forces police battalion is currently deployed. On the approach to Debalseve, the cars hit a roadside bomb, killing Lviv battalion commander Ihor Volsky and injuring Zaharia,” said Antonyschak, who prior to his election to the parliament was the curator of the Kulchytsky battalion.

In all, four people have been injured, he said.
