Lviv Railways has drawn up a plan of activities to prepare railway track constructions for floods and spring melt on the rivers, as well as named 137 line sections to which locomotive brigades should pay special attention.

As the press service of Lviv Railways reported, when passing through the mentioned sections, railway men are to inspect the territory and report on the state of the track bed and tracks, and any changes in the situation.

Moreover, at enterprises that are the part of Lviv Railways, people responsible for preparing for and ensuring the safe passage of drifting ice on rivers, and responding to flooding, were given technical training and instructions.

In addition, the railways’ detached subdivisions signed agreements with the territorial management subdivisions of the State Service for Emergency Situations and State Special Transportation Service to set off, if needed, explosions to remove snow from line sections.

In general, 12 track-repair trains were created, with 52 railway rolling stock units. A reserve of track materials has been created at the Sambor, Stry, Chernivtsi, Khryplin and Volovets stations.

Lviv Railways crosses seven regions, including Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, and Volyn. It has 354 stations, 252 of which are open for cargo operations.
