You're reading: Main objects of Euro 2012 to be put into operation in Lviv this year

The preparation of the main properties of Lviv region needed to host the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship will be completed by the end of 2011, Deputy Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Volodymyr Hubytsky has said.

According to Hubytsky, the region’s preparations for the championship are on the last lap, will 230 days still to go before the beginning of the championship, the Ukraine 2012 information agency reported on Monday.

"In fact, all of the main Euro 2012 objects in Lviv region will be completed this year," the deputy head said.

As reported, a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the European stadium in Lviv will be held on Oct. 29, and the new terminal and airport’s runway will be put into operation by the end of this year.

According to the State Target Program, the total cost of preparing Lviv properties for Euro 2012 is Hr 13.1 billion, of which Hr 8.6 billion is state budget funds.
