You're reading: Malaysia to mull participation in police mission at Boeing crash site

Malaysia will study the possibility of involving its representatives into the international police contingent which will ensure a comprehensive and independent inquiry at the site of the Boeing 777 crash in Donetsk region.

“The prime minister of Malaysia said that his country would consider the possibility of involving Malaysian forces in the work of the police contingent to ensure a comprehensive and independent expert investigation,” Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s press service reported quoting a telephone conversation between Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak.

The two officials discussed the progress of the investigation into the Malaysian jet crash.

“The prime minister of Malaysia thanked Ukraine for its efforts in dealing with the consequences of the tragedy and asked how Malaysia could help in ensuring the security of the crash site and the inviolability of the evidence for the period of investigation,” the press service said.
