Kyiv, August 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chief Coach of Ukraine's national football team Myroslav Markevych has announced his resignation.

Interfax-Ukraine received an official statement by Markevych on Saturday.

"I have to inform Ukrainian football fans that as of today I am leaving the post of the coach of the national team. The Football Federation of Ukraine has completely discredited itself with the recent decision of its Control and Disciplinary Committee regarding FC Metalist, and I have no moral right to work in an organization that is deliberately destroying Kharkiv football. I have been and still am a coach of FC Metalist and I cannot betray my own club," Markevych said in a statement.
