Australian, Dutch investigators have failed for a third consecutive day to reach the site of the Malaysian Boeing 777 crash in Donetsk region, The Australian newspaper reported on its website.

According to the newspaper, time is running out for the investigators
to retrieve bodies and personal belongings and hold an effective
inquiry into the downing of the Malaysia Airlines plane.

“Australian Federal Police again deemed the situation too risky
without firm commitments from opposing Ukrainian and rebel forces that
would guarantee the investigators’ safe passage to the area,” the report
reads.

The newspaper also said that the forensic teams had been caught in
the middle of hostilities in Donetsk. Monitors from the Organization for
Security and Co-operation in Europe tried to negotiate the
investigators’ passage to the crash site from the city, which is
encircled by Ukrainian military, but failed.
