You're reading: Media: Polish consulate in Lutsk involved in human trafficking

LUTSK – A criminal group in the Consulate General of Poland in Lutsk issued Schengen visas to people that had no right to receive them, and was allegedly involved in human trafficking, according to Polish media.

According to the Gazeta Polska daily newspaper, the Border Guard
Service of Poland picked up the trail of the criminal group in 2011.

“Among its other activities, the group illegally issued visas for
prostitutes, and was possibly involved in child trafficking. Poland is
about to face an international scandal,” reads the article.

Diplomats, including the consul, one of drivers of the consulate, and
an employee of the security service, allegedly were members of the
group.

Interfax-Ukraine has not managed to receive an official commentary on the issue from the Embassy of Poland in Ukraine.
