Media: Polish, Ukrainian presidents to open Polish military cemetery in Bykivnia in September

Presidents of Ukraine and Poland, Viktor Yanukovych and Bronislaw Komorowski, will open on September 20-21 the Bykivnia Cemetery, where more than 3,000 victims of the Katyn massacre are buried, the Ukrainian service of the Polish Radio External Service with reference to the unofficial information of the Polish Press Agency.

According to the publication, the Polish military cemetery in Bykivnia, which is within the city limits of Kyiv, is the fourth Katyn cemetery along with the cemeteries in the Katyn Forest, the village of Mednoye in Tver Oblast, Russia, and the village of Piatykhatky on the outskirts of Kharkiv, Ukraine. "The cemetery is located at the Bykivnia Graves National Historic and Memorial Reserve, the burial place of the victims of the Katyn massacre of the so-called Ukrainian list. Close relatives will see a plate with the names of their loved ones for the first time in 72 years," the report reads.
