You're reading: Medvedev arrives in Kyiv

President Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Kyiv on Monday for a two-day official visit.

The Russian president was welcomed by Ukraine’s presidential chief of staff Serhiy Liovochkin, Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and other officials at Boryspil airport.

Medvedev will travel to the Park of Glory to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych and will pay tribute to the victims of the Soviet 1932-1933 famine, known as Holodomor, at a special memorial.

Medvedev will hold talks with Yanukovych in Kyiv and attend the third meeting of the Russian-Ukrainian interstate commission.
