You're reading: Medvedev says reunification with Crimea is not subject to revision

Russia's decision on its reunification with Crimea and Sevastopol cannot be reconsidered, but it is necessary to consistently explain it to younger generations and opponents, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

“These are truly very important events for us – the return of our
native lands, but it is not easy to explain them,” Medvedev said at a
reception of citizens as the chairman of the United Russia party in St.
Petersburg on Friday.

“Various opinions are clashing” about this decision, Medvedev said.
“While an absolute majority of our people supports this decision, we
still have, if you will, real hysterics about it, especially as concerns
involvement of some foreign countries,” he said.

“We don’t change our decisions. Everything that has been decided will be fulfilled. These are our territories already,” he said.

Medvedev welcomed the idea to explain the reasons of this decision to Russian people from childhood.
