BERLIN - The German authorities do not plan to send their troops to the east of Ukraine to resolve the conflict, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said. 

 “We will not send soldiers to resolve the conflict in Ukraine,” Merkel said when addressing the public in Grimma, Saxony (Germany), in connection with local parliament elections.

Merkel said the German authorities would try again to seek a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
