Militants fighting Ukrainian government forces in the southeastern part of the country have warned that they are determined to shoot down all unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) over their positions, including those belonging to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

“The DPR’s (the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic) Defense Ministry has stressed in connection with the planned deployment of drones at the border that there is no technical possibility to identify drones, and information obtained through them may become known to Ukrainian security forces. This concerns primarily movements of militants’ forces. The Donetsk People’s Republic Defense Ministry reserves the right to destroy such unmanned aerial vehicles,” the DPR press center reports.

There were reports several days ago on plans to provide the OSCE Monitoring Mission in Ukraine with UAVs.
