Ukrainian government forces say that militants are leaving their positions on the outskirts of Donetsk and retreating to the city center, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) reported early on Wednesday, July 23.
“In the city of Donetsk, there were a lot of militants leaving their
positions and retreating to the city center. However, it’s not ruled out
that the activation of these movements may suggest they are in panic
and attempting to leave the combat zone,” the press center said on its
Facebook page.
The ATO press center said that Ukrainian forces were further
fortifying and equipping firing positions and defensive structures, as
well as sending armored vehicles to settlements around Donetsk, namely
Avdiyivka, Horlivka, Ilovaisk, and Dmytrivka.
