SIMFEROPOL – Newly appointed Crimean Prime Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov has said that he is not planning any staff reshuffles in the government of the autonomous republic.

"I’m not going to have any staff reshuffles in the government of Crimea. In my opinion, professionalism is an essential feature of a government official. Each minister, each executive, performs the functions assigned to him. If he performs them professionally, copes with the assigned tasks, and provides a solution to the problems set before them, then he should be allowed to work," Mohyliov said at his first press conference as head of the Crimean government in Simferopol on Wednesday.

He stressed that the nationality of a member of the Crimean government does not matter. He noted that Crimean Tatars are among those working in the government.

"In terms of occupation, I don’t care about a person’s nationality. If he does his job, he will continue to work," the Crimean prime minister said.

He also said that he had not yet time to talk to each member of his government about their jobs.

"I think we will have two weeks to talk with each of the ministers, and to find out what they’re like, and how they perform the tasks assigned to them. In any case, I’m not going to make any drastic changes. It is necessary to evaluate their work first," Mohyliov said.
