You're reading: Moscow says ‘Normandy Four’ summit to highlight Ukraine political reform, local elections

The 'Normandy Four' leaders will discuss major aspects of the Minsk agreements - the political reform in Ukraine and local elections - at their meeting in Paris.

“Concerning Paris, indeed, the entire range of issues related to the implementation of the Minsk agreements will be discussed there. Naturally, the issue of political reforms and elections, which is a keynote provision,” Peskov told reporters.

He abstained from comment on the suggestion the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic made on Sept. 22 that the Donbas local elections be held on Feb. 21, 2016.

“I’d rather not assess the new initiatives before the Minsk meeting, before the group meeting. Let us wait for the outcome of the debate,” Peskov said.
