You're reading: Most Ukrainians do not want to cede Donbas

More than half of Ukrainians - 54.3 percent - expressly disagree to lose Donbas, as demonstrated by a poll of 3,035 respondents conducted by the Kyiv International Sociology Institute under a contract with the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia Ukraine (Mirror of the Week Ukraine, zn.ua) publication in 179 populated areas of Ukraine on Dec. 4-19.

Another 27.1 percent of those polled “tend to disagree.”

Only 7.3 percent would not object to part with Donbas, while only 1.8 percent of
the respondents fully agreed that Ukraine would do better without
Donbas.

The sampling error is within 1.8 percent. In Luhansk and Donetsk regions,
the poll was conducted only on the territory controlled by Kyiv.
