You're reading: MYMEDIA offers eight journalism scholarships for Ukrainian journalism students

MYMEDIA, a program funded by the Denmark Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is provide scholarship for eight students from Crimea, Donbas and Black Sea area for a master's degree in journalism and media communications.   

In 2014-2015, the School of Journalism of
Ukrainian Catholic University will provide eight MYMEDIA scholarship for students
from Crimea as well as the southeastern regions of Ukraine. The scholarships will cover the
costs of education and accommodation and will be provided by the project www.mymedia.org.ua

MYMEDIA scholarships will be granted to students from Crimea, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhhya, Mykolayiv, Odessa, Kherson and Kharkiv oblasts based on the admission examination ranking.

The winders will be decided by the university’s admission board with the approval by MYMEDIA.

The project www.mymedia.org.ua is
financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, and
implemented by a joint venture between NIRAS and BBC Media Action.

Mogens Jensen, the Danish minister for trade and development cooperation underscored the importance of the program.

“A free and
independent media is a fundamental part of every democratic society. This
initiative aims to strengthen objective and critical journalism by providing
quality education to young journalists from all parts of Ukraine. Denmark is
proud to support this important work through the Danish Neighborhood Programme,” Jensen said.

Students from all over Ukraine are studying at the School of Journalism of the Ukrainian Catholic University, including students from
Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Zaprorizhhya, Mykolayiv, Odessa and other regions.
