National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy has confirmed the initialing of the agreement between Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission on the conditions of gas supplies to Ukraine.

‘At the meeting on Friday, Volodymyr Demchyshyn, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, Alexander Novak, the Russian Energy Minister, and Maros Sefcovic, Vice-President of the European Commission, have discussed and agreed all substantial commitments of the governments of Russia and Ukraine, as well as the European Commission which are to be included in the Binding Protocol within the framework of the new gas supply ‘winter package’. The wording of the document has been initialed by the parties on Friday. The signing of this protocol will require a separate procedure,’ the press service of Naftogaz Ukrainy reported on Saturday.
