The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has said that the spreading of Russian media information about the discovery of a mass grave of people near the village of Nyzhnia Krynka (Donetsk region) and Russia's blaming the National Guard of Ukraine of mass murders of the civilians is a conscious provocation.

“This is a provocation, but not a very well-mastered, since its first point, where National Guard is blamed of these mass murders…I can assure that soldiers of the National Guard have never been there, other Ukrainian troops were deployed there [near the village of Nyzhnia Krynka],” NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

He said that if the Russia means Nyzhnia Krynka, then NSDC always provided daily reports that this residential area was being constantly shelled by the militants.

“[It is shelled] every day, and today as well,” he said.

As reported, the press center of Ukraine’s anti-terrorist operation (ATO) has denied Russian media reports of the alleged discovery of a “mass grave” of civilians on the territory of Kommunarska coal mine No. 22 in Donetsk region.

“The press center of the ATO is authorized to officially state that this information is not true and is aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian armed forces, who continue to perform their duties to protect the territorial integrity of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” the press center wrote on Facebook.

A number of Russian media earlier reported that representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Investigative Committee had claimed to have found a mass grave of civilians and DPR fighters on the premises of mine No. 22 in the Kommunar town on the outskirts of the village of Nyzhnia Krynka, 60 kilometers from Donetsk.
