BRUSSELS - NATO believes the situation surrounding Crimea will not be brought back to normal within a short period of time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.

NATO is not seeking confrontation with Russia and does not wish for a new Cold War, but it cannot cede the principles on which Europe’s and the Euro-Atlantic region’s security has been based for decades, Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels on Dec. 2.
