NATO will help Ukraine regain control over its airspace, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Ihor Dolhov has said.

“Last week, a group of NATO experts visited Ukraine. They conducted an assessment of what needs to be improved for better control of the airspace over Ukraine. There are conclusions, and there is an understanding in which order one needs to carry out any upgrade,” he told journalists in Kyiv on Oct. 12.

The deputy minister noted that Ukraine and NATO have been exchanging information on Ukrainian air space over the past several years.

“Some of our opportunities have been lost because Crimea is now occupied… This should be compensated for… We are talking about joint software, information security, plus technology,” Dolhov said.
