The National Bank of Ukraine plans to transfer Hr 5.439 billion to the national budget in 2013, which is 48.7% down on 2012, member of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Council Vasyl Horbal said.

“The sum to be transferred is Hr 5.439 billion,” he told reporters.

According to the law on the NBU, the central bank, before finishing
the formation of reserves, should transfer 50% of its profit to the
national budget.

Horbal also said that in 2013 some Hr 4.941 billion could be
transferred to the national budget for 2014. The reduction compared to
the previous year is due to the fall in interest income because of the
banks’ returning refinancing credits.
