You're reading: Nine border guards killed in militant attacks in eastern Ukraine

Nine border guards have been killed and 112 injured during the actions of illegal armed groups in eastern Ukraine, First Deputy Head of the State Border Service Pavlo Shysholin has said. 

The press center had reported earlier that militiamen had opened fire at security forces near Novoselivka-1 early on Friday, July 4.

“Today we have combat casualties – nine people who died in defense of the state border, and 112 wounded. The absolute majority are in hospitals – 67 people, and one is a very grave condition is in a specialized clinic in Israel,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, July 7.
