According to preliminary information, there were no Ukrainian citizens aboard the passenger airliner that crashed near Tyumen on April 2 morning, the Foreign Ministry reported.

"According to preliminary data of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, there were no Ukrainian citizens aboard," Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov told Interfax-Ukraine on April 2.

The Consulate General of Ukraine in Tyumen continues to verify this information, he added.

A French-made ATR 72 airliner that belonged to UTair Airlines crashed at 0544 Moscow time on April 2, on a flight from Tyumen to Surgut near the town of Gorkovka, 45 kilometers from Tyumen. There were 39 passengers and four crew members aboard the plane. The death toll stands at 31.
