The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has no reports of Ukrainians being injured as a result of the meteor incident in Chelyabinsk region (Russia).

“The Foreign Ministry has not received from Ukraine’s Embassy in Russia any reports about Ukrainians injured in any way [by the meteor],” Acting Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis has told a press briefing on Tuesday.

As reported, a meteor appeared over Chelyabinsk region on the morning of February 15. It broke into several dozen large pieces above the ground. More than 1,100 people were hurt and around 3,000 buildings were damaged by the shockwave created by the meteors entry to the atmosphere.

Russian scientists do not rule out that the meteor above the Urals was in fact a comet.
