BERLIN - The foreign ministers of the Normandy Quartet (France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine) discussed the restoration of the infrastructure affected by the fighting in eastern Ukraine at a meeting in Berlin on Friday, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said.

“We should also talk about the economy: how to restore the destroyed infrastructure and how to resume railway services. Both parties are interested in this,” Steinmeier told journalists following the ministerial meeting.

The Normandy Quartet foreign policy chiefs also discussed “how to ensure coal transportation from eastern regions to western ones. In addition, the water supply infrastructure is also important.”
