BERLIN – Russia won't be extending its transit contract with Ukraine after 2019, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

“As [Gazprom CEO] Alexei Miller has said, the transit contract with Ukraine won’t be extended after 2019,” Novak said.

“All efforts are being directed towards building a gas transportation system at the border between Turkey and Greece, and delivering [gas] to European consumers, from Southeastern and Central Europe, via that route,” he said.
