The anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces have left the Luhansk airport on the instructions of the command, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.

“In the Luhansk direction Ukrainian soldiers got the order to make an orderly retreat from Luhansk airport and the settlement of Heorhiyivka, which is located on the Luhansk-Krasny Luch-Snizhne highway. Given the precision of the strikes, the shells are fired by professional gunners of the Russian Armed Forces,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Sept. 1.

He said that a large concentration of Russian forces has been recorded around the district center of Lutuhyne and on the outskirts of the town of Schastia on the northern bank of the Siversky Donets River.
