You're reading: Number of cholera cases in Donetsk region soars to 27

Two new cases of cholera among people have been reported in the Ukrainian town of Mariupol as of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the Emergency Situations Ministry office for the Donetsk region said.

A total of 27 cholera cases have been registered (including 26 in Mariupol and one in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region) and 13 "cases of the vibrio carrier," the ministry said.

The public has been informed of the ban on swimming and fishing in the Kalchyk River in Mariupol and at the Azov Sea coast and the consumption of fish from these areas.

A set of counter-epidemic measures continue.
