You're reading: Number of private Internet subscribers in Ukraine 4% up

The number of private broadband Internet users in Ukraine in April-June 2012 increased by 4% compared to January-March this year and reached 5.75 million, according to a report prepared by analysts from iKS-Consulting.

The total number of high-speed Internet subscribers in the second quarter of 2012 was 6.5 million subscribers.

The level of the Internet penetration to households as of July 1 had
reached 33%. Revenues in this sector grew by 2.8%, to Hr 1.36 billion.

iKS-Consulting said that in the period Ukrtelecom was the leader in
terms of revenues from broadband Internet services. Its subscriber base
came to 1.453 million – a rise of 3.3%.

Kyivstar ranked second. Its subscribers’ base was 514,700 – a rise of 9.2%.

Volia ranked third. As of the end of the second quarter of 2012 it serviced 500,000 persons – a rise of 1%.

Kyiv-based Internet provider Triolan ranked fourth. The number of its subscribers is 250,000 – a rise of 3.7%.
