Odesa City Council is ready to terminate the contract with the current investor in the reconstruction of Odesa International Airport if a new one is found.

Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov told Interfax-Ukraine that if there is a company or a financial group, which will show the desire to participate in this project, the city will create conditions for tripartite consultations between the municipality, the existing and new investors to meet all interests.

“The new investor should offer an option to recover the costs the previous company suffered,” he said.

He noted that many companies are interested in the project, but now it’s only interest.

On the other hand, the mayor noted he wants to bring the project of the airport reconstruction to a logical conclusion so that the city could get a modern airport with a modern runway.

He jointly with the deputies of Odesa City Council wants to demand the existing investors provide the plan of the implementation of investment obligations.
